Our young disciples

Investing in today's youth is necessary in growing the body of Christ. Teaching young people in the church to grow in their relationship with the Lord prepares them to serve Christ in all they do. As a result, this nurtures the congregation and allows the church to flourish.

"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."

Matthew 19:14

If you are responsible for children ages 5-13 and would like to have them join our young disciples, or if you would like to find out more information about this wonderful, interactive ministry, please contact our church office at admin@coolwaterchurch.org

Confidence

September 17, 2022

This month's focus was on Confidence.

Confidence in yourself can come from a variety of sources but ultimately God is always our most constant and everlasting supporter. Our young disciples are being prepared for what lies ahead in life with God by their side.

Important life topics are introduced to our Young Disciples; their insights are always so amazing.

All are welcome the third Saturday of every month!!!

Saint Patrick

March 2022

This months lesson was on Saint Patrick, the Irish Man who used the three leaves of the Shamrock to educate his country about the love of Jesus.

The Shamrock represents the holy Trinity, God Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The girls did a scavenger hunt around the church looking for gold and green coins, we discussed what passions and talents we have that can be used to share the love of God.

They decorated their shamrocks highlighting those three things that they felt were their passions and talents.

Friendship

February 2022 youth group :

This month we focused on friendship. We recognized the importance of having good friends that support us through all phases of life. We talked about how we could be a good friend and what we look for in a good friend.

We read various scriptures from the Bible that reference love. The four principles that we can follow to be a good friend are to be happy for one another, be sad for one another when we need to be, be trustworthy, and pray for our friends. The kids wrote letters to some of their favorite friends.

A 'Clean Slate'

January 2022

Last month we discussed having a “clean slate”. It’s difficult to move on or make changes if you are still tied to old habits.

The youth talked about what they hoped to do in the new year in terms of new habits or letting go of bad ones. We made vision boards as well.

We discussed the story of Noah and the flood and how this became a new start for humanity and all of the animals.

thankfulness

November 2021

Our November meeting was themed "Thankfulness". We discussed how easy it is to forget the simple blessings in life and likewise, how easily we can focus on negative thing that happen. We learned how Jesus was an example of how to live and that regardless of the mistakes we make, we are forgiven because of his sacrifice.

On these turkey hands are written things we are grateful for and things we can do for others.
